More information can be found on our website, including a detailed job description and schedule. We would love to have you join our team!
Additionally, applications for 2013 Summer Fellow positions in both Raleigh and Lexington are going to be open this month! Know someone who wants to have a summer filed with laughter, meaning, and female empowerment? Spread the word if you know someone who might be interested in applying!
Furthermore, news just in! During Strong Camps 2012, FCF Lexington partnered with Movement Continuum—a Lexington-based contemporary dance company dedicated to evolution and growth, not only in dance, but within the Lexington community. In 2012, the dancers of Movement Continuum led workshops for approximately 20 campers during which we discussed issues of body image and self-esteem. During the workshops, the Program Leaders and Instructor Fellows witnessed our campers shine as the creativity of dance allowed our campers to increase their confidence. Dancing days provided some of the best laughs during Strong Camps 2012. These workshops were a huge success and, therefore, Movement Continuum is in the process of acquiring grants to make these workshops permanent within the Lexington community. We are so delighted and proud that this idea sparked from our Strong Camps and wish Movement Continuum all the luck in their grant process!
And don’t forget that our annual holiday fundraiser is still active! Please consider making a contribution to support this year’s Strong Camps in Lexington and Raleigh! Our Strong Camps include six-weeks of programming that focus on the connections among strong selves, strong neighbors, and a strong home. These camps have provided over 100 girls in Lexington and Raleigh an empowering and unforgettable summer with your contribution more young women will be able to have the same experiences.
Always remember to check our new and improved website for additional news and information. May Strong Camps 2013 bring strong girls, a fair economy, and a healthy earth!
I love that dancing days are going to be a permanent opportunity! It sounds like a wonderful activity.
